The GL-DY150II is an eight-bay folded dipole array for 134-173 MHz, doubling the bay count of the standard models to reach far higher gain. In directional configuration it delivers 14.8 dBi, while the omnidirectional arrangement holds 8.8 dBi with a very flat 360-degree pattern thanks to the long stack. At 10 m tall and rated for 500 W, it is a serious base-station antenna for sites that must cover large areas or push power across long distances.

What Eight Bays Buy

Stacking eight driven bays compresses the vertical beam dramatically, which is exactly what extends ground-level range: instead of wasting energy skyward it is launched along the horizon. The directional configuration adds a reflector arrangement to concentrate that energy toward one side at 14.8 dBi, ideal for coastal, valley or corridor coverage, while the omni option keeps uniform town-wide coverage. The folded dipole design sustains the 500 W rating across continuous high duty-cycle transmission.

Mechanical Considerations

A 10 m array is a major structure; it ships separated into four parts for transport and is assembled in sections on site before being raised. The 50 ohm feed is supplied on a UHF or N-female connector, and the 60 m/s wind rating with heavy-duty hardware is essential given the large aperture and wind area. A strong mast and professional installation are required.
