The GL-DY150IIA is the largest folded dipole array in the 134-173 MHz family, an eight-bay structure standing 13 m tall. Its extended aperture lifts the omnidirectional gain to 12 dBi and the directional configuration to 15 dBi, the highest in the VHF dipole line. Rated for 500 W, it is intended for flagship sites that must dominate a region with a single high-power antenna.

Performance at Scale

The very long vertical stack produces an exceptionally tight vertical beam, so even in omnidirectional mode the 12 dBi is achieved by efficient horizon-directed radiation rather than upward spill. Switched to directional operation, the 15 dBi concentrates that energy toward a chosen sector for the longest reach. This makes the antenna suitable both for blanket regional coverage and for hammering a signal across a long path, all while sustaining 500 W of continuous power.

Mechanical Reality

At 13 m and shipping separated into four parts, this is a large engineered structure assembled in sections on site. It uses a 50 ohm feed on a UHF or N-female connector. Given the substantial wind area, the 60 m/s wind rating, a strong self-supporting or guyed mast and professional rigging are essential. It is built for permanent, high-availability operation at major communication sites.
