Overview

The GL-DY280IA is a four-bay folded dipole array tuned for the 270-290 MHz band, a UHF-edge allocation used by some government, military and specialised radio systems. It offers the same configurable behaviour as the rest of the dipole family: 9 dBi in omnidirectional arrangement around the mast, or 12 dBi when set up directionally toward one side. The shorter wavelengths at 280 MHz make the four-bay array compact at just 3.6 m.

Configurable Coverage

Because the higher frequency shortens each bay, a four-bay 280 MHz array fits in roughly the height a single dipole occupies at low VHF, making high gain easy to deploy. Operators can blanket a service area omnidirectionally or, by reconfiguring the bays with a reflector, focus 12 dBi across a corridor or toward a distant cluster of users. The 200 W rating supports repeater and base-station transmitters, and the broadband folded dipoles hold their match across the 270-290 MHz span.

Mechanical Build

The 3.6 m array ships separated into two parts for transport and on-site assembly, with a 50 ohm UHF or N-female feed. A 60 m/s wind rating and robust hardware support permanent outdoor mounting on a mast or rooftop. The compact size keeps wind load and installation effort modest compared with the taller VHF arrays.
