UHF Directional Beam

The GL-DYJ350A is an eight-element Yagi for the 330-390 MHz UHF band, designed for outdoor pole installation and a 100 W feed. Its eight elements on a compact 1.5 m boom yield 11.2 dBi of forward gain. Because UHF wavelengths are shorter than VHF, this beam packs strong directivity into a much smaller physical antenna, which is one of the main attractions of working a directional link up at 350 MHz.

Focused Coverage

The beam concentrates energy toward a single fixed station and rejects signals from the rear, improving range on the wanted path and reducing interference on congested government, trunked and professional UHF allocations. The antenna can be polarized vertically or horizontally by its mounting orientation, letting it match the partner station and suppress cross-polarized interference. A clean pattern is especially valuable in dense UHF environments.

Mechanical and Electrical

The 50 ohm feed is supplied with an N-female connector, with customisation available, and the antenna is rated for 100 W. The 1.5 m boom mounts easily on an outdoor pole, and weather-rated hardware with a 60 m/s wind capability supports permanent service on a mast, rooftop or tower leg. The compact size keeps wind load and installation effort low.
