The GL-DY230D is the high-gain single-boom model in the 220-290 MHz Yagi line, carrying ten elements over a 2 metre boom for 12 dBi of forward gain. It is built for the longer paths where the smaller beams in the family no longer close the link with comfortable margin, focusing the radio energy into a narrow, well-controlled lobe aimed at a distant fixed station.

Tight Pattern, Strong Rejection

Ten elements narrow the beam to a 36 degree vertical and 40 degree horizontal beamwidth and push the front-to-back ratio to 18 dB. That sharp pattern demands a little more care in aiming but rewards it with maximum power on the target and strong suppression of interference and multipath from other directions. The antenna can be polarized vertically or horizontally by its mounting orientation to match the partner station and minimise cross-polarization loss.

Build Quality

A 50 ohm N-female feed and 100 W rating suit fixed repeater, data and telemetry transmitters. The 2 m boom is the longest of the single-row 230 beams, so mast strength and a steady mount matter, and the 60 m/s wind rating ensures the structure holds the aim through bad weather. Robust element hardware keeps the geometry stable over years of outdoor service.
