The GL-DYJ150E is the highest-gain antenna in the VHF Yagi family, a stacked array of two eight-element bays reaching 14.5 dBi across 134-173 MHz. It is built for the most demanding VHF paths, combining the directivity of eight-element bays with the vertical-plane gain of stacking to extract maximum reliable range from the band. Where a single beam runs out of margin, this array provides the headroom.

Why It Performs

Two eight-element bays phased together produce both a tight horizontal beam and a compressed vertical lobe, putting an unusually large share of the transmitter power on a distant fixed station and rejecting interference and high-angle noise from elsewhere. At 14.5 dBi the gain advantage over a simple five-element beam is around 5 dB, which on a marginal link can be decisive. Polarization is vertical or horizontal according to the mounting, to align with the far end.

Mechanical Considerations

The bays share a single 50 ohm feed on a UHF or N-female connector and the array is rated for 100 W. Each bay sits on a 2 m boom, so the complete stacked frame is a large structure that needs a strong mast and the full 60 m/s wind hardware to stay aimed in weather. It is intended for permanent, high-availability fixed-link service.
