LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) support
LTE-Advanced and LTE-Advanced Pro are modem features — carrier aggregation and higher-order MIMO — not a separate kind of antenna. The wideband and MIMO antennas on this page already cover what LTE-A asks for: continuous coverage across the bands your modem aggregates, and enough isolated ports for 2×2 or 4×4 MIMO. 4G LTE antenna design: what actually matters
Most 4G LTE antenna design questions trace back to one constraint: the band plan spans 698-2700 MHz — nearly a 4:1 range — and the antenna has to stay matched across all of it. That drives the trade-offs you see in this catalog. Low band needs physical size, so compact screw-mount models trade gain for footprint while LPDA and panel designs buy gain with length and aperture. MIMO ports only deliver their throughput when the elements are isolated — roughly half a wavelength apart at the low band — which is why 2×2 housings are wider than they look. And LTE antenna design is linear-polarized end to end (vertical or ±45° slant), so there is no RHCP to worry about, just polarization match between the two ends of the link. What antenna types are used on a cell tower?
Cell towers use arrays of high-gain sector panel antennas plus microwave backhaul dishes — infrastructure hardware. The antennas on this page are the device side: routers, gateways and IoT terminals that talk to those towers. To reach a distant tower from a fixed site, a directional LPDA or panel antenna is the usual pick.
